Parents have witnessed numerous atrocities this school year and the list continues growing at an alarming rate. One word many of us are seeing all too often these days: groomers.
An Ohio school superintendent's sexual (and criminal) fantasies involving children were recently made public through court documents. Superintendent of Lakota Local Schools Matt Miller's alleged sexual fantasies and desires involving students were brought to light yet somehow, he still has a job serving more than 16,000 students in 20 schools. As reported by citizen journalist Libs of TikTok, parents demanded his resignation at a recent school board meeting. Parents from those schools and of those students aren't happy about it. Nor should anyone with any semblance of a conscience. This is the world we are living in now.
Toxic Whiteness
A school board in Pennsylvania voted 8-1 this week against allowing one of their colleagues, Gregory D’Elia, to become the president of the board because he is a “cis, white male.”If you are wondering what ‘cisgendered’ means, just means normal. The rationale from board member, Jennifer Solot, stated she is against electing the only, “cis white male on this board,” as president of the district because it, “sends the wrong message to our community.” Solot then added she believes it important for the board to practice what they preach and that their words "have strength when they are spoken." The more we move away from meritocracy for our leadership, the closer we move towards mediocrity and second world status.
New Loudon County Low
A damning sexual-assault cover-up in Loudoun County Schools led Loudon’s liberal school board to suddenly fire its superintendent after a devastating grand-jury report concluded district officials lied and “the district was looking out for its own interests instead of the best interests of its students,” Fox News reported. The special grand jury report released Monday agreed that the school displayed a "stunning lack of openness, transparency and accountability, both to the public and to the special grand jury" about how they reacted to the assaults on campus. The report also condemned Superintendent Scott Ziegler for denying any knowledge of the assault at a school board meeting. In January 2022, incoming governor Glenn Youngkin demanded a new investigation on his first day in office. The Loudoun school board’s response was to sue to stop the grand-jury probe, calling it politically motivated. The Virginia Supreme Court ruled the board’s position invalid, and the probe finally got under way. The grand jury heard testimony from over 40 witnesses and reviewed over 100 pieces of evidence in their investigation, the report stated. Youngkin told 7News that he was not shocked by the findings in report.
Attorney General Jason Miyares, who impaneled the grand jury, told WTOP Radio: “The grand-jury report showed multiple instances where the Loudoun County public-school administrators dropped the ball.” He added that he hoped the report served as “a warning to every single school board in the Commonwealth” as an example of “what not to do” in a similar situation. Furious parents have pointed out that the board fired Ziegler did so without citing any cause. Because of this technicality, Ziegler will receive a severance package totaling $325,000, paid out in monthly installments.
In Philadelphia, parents decided it's important their children learn to be judged by the color of their skin. In Loudon County, parents thwarted the covering up of wrongdoing. If Loudon County’s board was able to avoid transparency, accountability and common sense, imagine what could be happening in other districts, where corruption never comes to light. You get the school board you tolerate, stand up for what is right.
