Governor Ron DeSantis has proven himself to be a champion of full transparency when it comes to education and keeping left-wing agendas out of the classroom. Sunshine is the best disinfectant, as the saying goes. To this end, Florida has enacted rigorous parental control measures aiming to protect children in public schools. From outlawing Critical Race Theory in K-12 classrooms, fighting back when the Biden administration threatens to take away school lunch program funding, and ensuring gender studies aren’t taught to elementary students, DeSantis is one of the most courageous and effective politicians in America right now.
As of July 1st, HB 1557–The “Parental Rights in Education” is active law. The bill was quickly caricatured by the left and the mainstream media as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill as if this has anything to do with it—spoiler: it doesn’t. The bill protects children and focuses on providing transparent information to all stakeholders – students, parents, teachers, administrators, and policymakers. Effectively empowering them with data to facilitate continuous improvement, direct resources where they are needed most and make informed choices that are best for their family, school, and community. Recall, parents in Florida recently filed a lawsuit against a school and administrators for having secret meetings with their gender-confused child which led to two suicide attempts.
Public schools, largely controlled by teachers unions, need parents willing to step up and fight for their child’s education. It is time to put the power of education freedom into the hands of parents and families through school board elections. We have been hard at work endorsing candidates across the state of Florida who will be champions of parental rights and pledge to support robust education, not indoctrination.

The Big Picture
Education has become one of the biggest issues, especially for parents. In the last Virginia gubernatorial election, the fight surrounding public education almost single-handedly won Glenn Youngkin the governorship. We can reasonably expect the issue to remain important throughout the midterms and into the 2024 election cycle. It’s no secret that Critical Race Theory is simply rebranded Marxist ideology; we cannot allow these ideas to take hold in our nation’s schools. Together we will rid classrooms of radical curriculums one school board election at a time. Join 1776 Project PAC in taking back the narrative and returning the role of raising children to parents!
