100 Wins: A Note from 1776 Project PAC Founder Ryan Girdusky
When I began the 1776 Project PAC in May 2021, I honestly wasn’t sure if anyone would care about school board elections. I was wrong, and this organization has been the biggest accomplishment of my life. I’m proud to have gained respect from thousands of voters in key districts in such a short time. This organization has enabled me to meet so many incredible people from all over the country who are volunteering, running for school board, and donating to make sure that every student can get a quality education without woke curriculums. By working together, we are making a difference.
Since starting the PAC I am happy to share we have a 60 percent win rate, helping 102 candidates win their elections in New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia, Minnesota, Kansas, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, Arkansas, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Michigan.
A year after our first school board wins, we’re seeing policy changes being done at local school boards with candidates we supported:
Last year, our PAC flipped three seats on the Lansing School Board in Leavenworth County, Kansas. In 2022, they passed the Parent's Bill of Rights on a 4-3 vote, cementing the right parents have to play a central role in a child's education.
In Texas we supported two candidates for the Frisco Independent School District board which went on to successfully change its rules to require students to use bathrooms and changing rooms that align with the gender assigned at birth.
Blue Valley, Kansas school boards were successfully able to stop the progressive members from asking pronouns and dropping the SEL survey next year.
Conservative groups across the country are continuing to move the ball forward. Conservative candidates also saw sweeping election victories in Kansas, New Jersey, and Arizona last week and we plan on being involved with more grassroots parent organization going into 2023.
Our work isn’t done. Looking ahead, 29 states have school board elections including in many critical swing states. In April we’ll be involved in school board elections in Alaska, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin. The following month has elections in Nebraska, Texas, and Oregon with Missouri school board elections in May. Didn't work out so well here in Round Rock ISD (metro Austin). Any help provided was invisible and ineffectual. The radicals won all 5 seats including a guy with painted nails who fancies himself a standup comedian, posts topless pictures of himself on Instagram and who is on record accusing conservatives of being terrorists. Also got zero help from county and state Team Republican. So I guess everyone is good with writing off all of Metro Austin. So no, I'm not inclined to help anyone else anywhere, ever again.
Great job! But you ghosted us here in Washoe County (Reno), Nevada. I spoke with you on the phone and you appeared to be interested in helping us. We only won 1 new seat on our school board last week. Our competition received huge support from Unions and George Soros - they raked in $100,000 per candidate. Please help us here in Nevada - our current school board is as woke as they come.
